About Me

Welcome to my first blog post! I will be introducing myself as my first initial post, so here’s a little bit about me:

Me hiking in Julian, Ca

I am from Southern California in a city called Oceanside. It is a beautiful beach town filled with lots of outdoor activities and a wide variety of cultures, food, and art. Although I love my hometown and will eventually move back, I have always had the urge to travel the world. Currently, I am living in Cape May, New Jersey with my boyfriend Manuel and his family. This town is another beautiful beach town but it packs a lot of history with early developments and wars.

I am currently studying for my B.S. degree with OSU’s Ecampus program: Fisheries and Wildlife Conservation. I ultimately hope this degree will get me into conservation efforts with the pacific northwest sea otter population in Monterey or with shark conservation in Mexico. Occupationally, I am already off to a good start as I have had experience working as a Naturalist and Wildlife photographer on a whale-watching boat in Oceanside, Ca, as a kayak/paddle board guide here in Cape May, Nj, and pretty soon I will begin my efforts in oyster farming and basic marina work in Sea Isle, NJ.

When I am not in school, or working I enjoy walking my dog Biggie at the beach, photographing, hiking, reading, and baking. One interesting fact about me is that I know sign language. My mom is a SPED teacher so she taught me and when I was younger. When I was enrolled to the same school that she worked in, I would love being able to sign to her students,  make friends with her class, and take part of the snacks when they had a class party!
